Boyfriend Jeans and Pops of Red

 Today was a very laid back day. I am currently in summer school trying to finish up all of my hours before I graduate in December so I rarely have time to just dress up for the hell of it and go out for cocktails like I used to. Even if you are on a busy schedule, you can still look fabulous. You don't have to be wearing a big intricate outfit to look fashionable. My go to outfit for days when i am on the run consists of boyfriend jeans, a cute bralette, oversized sunnies, and of course, red lipstick. If you haven't invested in a good pair of boyfriend jeans, you need to go home and order yourself a pair right this second! They will save your life! I just recently bought these jeans from Lovers + Friends and I swear, I haven't taken them off since Friday. Boyfriend jeans are the perfect way to cheat fashion. They can seriously bring your entire outfit together in about 2 seconds. Also, I am really into cute bralettes right now, especially when paired under a low cut top. I don't know why but I am really diggin the color red lately. It just adds a perfect pop of color to any neutral colored outfit. I hope everyone has a relaxing day! Wildfox Swim

 During our road trip, we decided it would be a great idea to stop at the beach and hang out for a few days, well that few days turned into two weeks.....oops. We stayed on a little island called Port St. Joe, it is only a few hours away from Destin, but if you're measuring distance in crowds of people who wear socks with their sandals (SHOOBIES), the place we stayed was light years away from Destin. I felt like I was stranded on an island. Me and my boyfriend always had the beach to ourselves, and the only noise to be heard was the sound of seagulls overhead and the lapping of the water, which was a vibrant blue and stretched out for miles. Growing up in Texas, my boyfriend had never seen a real ocean before. He was ecstatic, waking up every day at sunrise and swimming and snorkeling until sundown. We had the most amazing two weeks on this beach. Seriously, I could spend the rest of my life sitting on a beach, reading books, and sipping mojitos, and I would be the happiest person in the world. Playing With Prints

 I have always been afraid of mixing prints. I don't know why, but the thought of choosing the wrong prints and walking out of the house looking absolutely ridiculous has always given me anxiety, but I love seeing other women do it. Mixing prints makes for a unique look that stands out among the crowd. Today, I decided to just dip my toes into the pool of patterns and prints. Polka dots mixed with stripes was a look I saw last season on the Burberry runway during London Fashion Week and I loved it. I decided to try it myself, and I must say, it felt great. I've been running around town all day and I have been stopped by 7 different people who wanted to tell me how much they loved my outfit. One women even said I stood out among the crowd, which was weird to hear because I didn't see myself that way today. Taking fashion risks (this was a risk for me) is so exciting and rewarding. This is not the first time I will be playing with prints, and next time I do it, it will be bolder and better!

Friday's Favorite: 70's Inspired Swimwear

 

On today's addition of Friday's Favorite I want to talk about swimwear. The weather is getting hot (at least here in Texas it is) and the cold swimming pool that has been sitting in your backyard completely neglected for the past 7 months is looking more and more enticing. You're about to throw on your bikini from last summer when a thought all of a sudden hits you like a freight train,  I can't be seen out in the bikini I wore everyday last summer. Oh my gosh, it is so dirty and ratty from all those drunken trips to the lake and the river....and then you go into full on panic mode. Every summer I get one new bathing suit that I am madly in love with, and I wear it every single day. No seriously, every single day, because if you aren't at least a foot away from water at all times during a Texas summer, you will die. By the end of the summer it's kind of worn out and I become obsessed with a different type of bathing suit style the next summer. Last summer I loved high wasted bathing suits. This summer I am really diggin' 70's style prints, one pieces and anything from Triangl Swimwear . I am so excited to run around the beach this summer in my new 70's rainbow print Wildfox bikini, John Lennon inspired round sunglasses, and Birkenstock s. I am going to be lookin' groovy. What Can I Say, I love LA

 It's that time of the year again, I'm ready for spring weather but I can't quite let go of my over-sized sweater dresses and beanies. I love fall and winter fashion, but I am craving sunshine and warm weather. Right now, all I want to be doing is laying on the beach with a margarita. Where are you spring break?!?! This outfit from Wildfox Couture describes my feelings towards the weather perfectly. I get to wear a sweater dress, and also I get to wear sunshine and palm trees. It's the best of both worlds. This dress is made out of a beautiful light pink material that is extremely light weight. I love the picture on the front and can't get over how perfect the writing on the back is. I am so in love with Wildfox. Have you seen their new collection of bathing suits?! SO MAJOR. I can tell you one thing, this spring break when I am frolicking on the beach I will definitely be wearing Wildfox Couture.

Team Happy Hour

 This sweater describes me perfectly; I am the captain of team happy hour. There is nothing better than grabbing a cosmo and gossiping with your friends from 4-6 pm everyday. There's also nothing better than this sweater from Wildfox. I am so obsessed with Wildfox lately. All of their laid back, beachy clothing makes me happy, and everything they sell is so comfy! Literally the most comfortable clothes I have ever worn. This sweater is my new favorite, now I can rep my team every time I go to happy hour.
