Shades of Fall

When I think of fall fashion a lot comes to mind: corduroy, plaid, beanies, dark lipsticks, and comfortable overalls just to name a few. These overalls are the perfect fall wardrobe staple. They are warm in color and texture, I could live in these overalls, and when it gets cold outside I do just that. Fall is such a busy time of year.  I have so much on my plate right now, I am taking 18 hours of classes, working a part time job, applying for full time jobs since I am graduating in December, and trying to keep a full social calender. It's easy to get overwhelmed and lost in all of the work you have going on, but it is important to slow down and enjoy the season, and it's even more important to enjoy the seasonal clothing! Right when I finish writing this post I am going to celebrate the fall season with some champagne. Its Friday, so you should do the same! Cheers, babies!

Red Velvet Autumn Dreams

It is officially Autumn, which means the leaves on the trees will start turning vibrant reds, golds, and oranges, the air will start feeling crisp, and the of smell apple cider and burning wood will surround you. To anyone who actually gets to experience this, I AM SO JEALOUS OF YOU. See, here in good 'ole Texas we don't have seasons. We have two types of weather: scorching, hotter than the freakin sun, heat and oh my god it is uncomfortably cold outside. Seasons don't exist here. I have this theory though, maybe if I slowly start to dress like it's chilly outside, it will become chilly outside. I already know the outcome of this experiment....I am going to die of heat stroke. But hey, at least I'll look good doing it. I will not let this heat bring me down! Fall is my favorite time of year, this state can not take that away from me! I pulled out my favorite pair of red velvet overalls from the depths of my cold weather closet and paired it with a bralette from For Love and Lemons. I love the deep burgundy color of these overalls, they are the perfect fall piece. Yes, the velvet was cozy in this hot weather, but the bralette balanced it out. Oh, and I can't forget to talk about the best part of the outfit....THESE BOOTS. Ugh I am so in love with them, I can't wear them enough. If you haven't checked out Senso, get your butt over to their website right this minute! You will fall (haha like fall the season, get it?)  in love. I hope everyone is transitioning into fall a lot easier than I am. Happy Autumn, lovelies!

P.S. I know what you are thinking, how does she know anything about the fall season if she lives in a season-less state? Well, I actually grew up in Virginia. I truly believe that Virginia is the greatest and most beautiful state in this country. It actually has all four seasons! I miss it there.

Thoughts on My Last Semester As a College Student

It is September, which means the summer season has officially ended. As the hot summer sun lazily dips down under the horizon, a swarm of emotions wash over me. I am terrified, excited, happy, sad, and anxious. I am feeling everything at once, and at times, it is overwhelming. This Fall is an important time for me. As the leaves start to turn and the air gets nippy, my whole life is going to be laid out before me. This is my last semester of college, come January I am on to bigger and better things (hopefully). The life I am living is all I've ever known, and in a few months everything will be different. In a few months I will be done with school forever, I will move away, I won't be able to wake up next to the man I love every day, and I will be completely on my own. My heart is swelling with excitement but also breaking from sadness. I am hoping to get a job in the fashion industry, since fashion is the only thing in this world that I am passionate about. The fact that in a few months I could be working in the industry that means the world to me, the industry that I care about so much, fills me with delight. Waking up everyday and only thinking about fashion will be the most amazing time of my life. I am so excited for this, but at this moment in time,  I am freaking out as I apply for jobs. I know that everything will eventually fall into place, but Autumn has barely started and I am already stressed. I decided to make some Fall goals, because I think it is important to constantly make new goals for yourself instead of saving them all up for New Years Eve.

Fall Goals:
1.) Don't stress out too much. A little stress is good for you, but I can't spend my days curled up in a little ball crying. I am hardworking and I  have been preparing for graduation for a long time. Everything will work out in the end.
2.) Really appreciate what I have now. My little blue house with the red door, morning kisses from my boyfriend, Texas football games, and getting an allowance from my parents. Pretty soon all of this will be taken away from me so I need to love it and appreciate it while it lasts.
3.) Have fun. It is my last semester in college, I know that I am so focused on my future but I need to make sure to have fun and enjoy this time.

I hope everyone makes Fall goals for themselves. I would love to hear about them so comment below or shoot me and email telling me your Fall goals!
